The pasteurized and cooled milk is immediately packaged in suitable containers or bottles so as to protect the product against contamination, loss, spillage, pilferage,evaporation and/or damage due to microbial attack, insect, exposure to light, heat,moisture or oxygen. It also helps in marketing the product. The several processing operations that milk is subjected to provide the producer a choice of the packaging system, depending on the availability of the raw materials and the consumers’preference.
